We have become quite the bargaining team, Isaac and I. We go to a shop in which we see something we want. We inspect the item until the shop owner approaches. We ask how much, then gasp and carry on at the outrageous price they offer. Then the negotiations begin: they say “Name your price”. We usually quarter their initial price. They gasp and carry on about our outrageous price and so on and so forth until the negotiations come to a standstill, both parties refusing to budge. Isaac and I then start to say, “nah, we’ll leave it…” and put the item back and start to walk away. This pretty much always seals the deal, they always call us back and sell us the item at our final price. So we now have a few little souvenirs from Morocco. The hardest thing is to stop buying stuff – bargaining is fun!
Today we walked a great deal around the Medina, through various gardens etc, pondering life, the universe and everything.
We may be out of contact for the next couple of days as we are going on a one-night desert tour to the edge of the Sahara.
